...wondered who messed up my room.
...went to Harajuku for my dream dress. Sat on a curb with hot coffee in a holiday cup. Why's this girl wearing my Minnetonkas?!
...met Amanda and Yusuke, took them to my favorite jazz bar because they're in my club.
...moved to Shinjuku to meet
...this guy.

spare him his life from this monstrosity!
How exactly DO you meet/pick up guys in Japan, anyhow?
Please mail that Suntory glass to me asap.
You can send it chakubarai. A plus, if some Suntory accompanies it. I will send my address.
Thank you and have a nice day.
He's just a poor boy, nobody loves him.
anonymous - i go out by myself a lot and people just talk to me. i don't know why, because i've met several girls in japan who are much prettier than i am and never get approached by anyone, but people talk to me a lot. it might be the way i dress or the vibe i put out, but i think it's because i'm in a magical zone of not too pretty but pretty enough. hahahah.
when i'm broke and my friends are busy i just go wander the city, and sometimes sit on a curb with a coffee and watch people. that's how i learned that there are a couple of places where if i sit and look bored, someone will try to pick me up within ten minutes. so when i'm really bored i do that on purpose. i call it nanpa fishing! HA! cannot guarantee the quality of boys but it is always entertaining. i probably shouldn't be talking about this.
but the other day my friend and i were laughing about it and i took her somewhere to show her how it's done. i don't know if i'm just magical or what but even with two of us together some guy tried to hit on us within ten minutes. but then this really cute german girl came and chatted us up and we had a really fun conversation and ended up walking around together and exchanging numbers. what a catch. you should never be bored in tokyo!
haha kelsey, i should have stolen it.
selena - that's the host
Hmm...
I'm going to have to give this a shot.
Whenever I stand around or try to look bored, I always seem to manage to look like I'm waiting for somebody. It might just be the cell phone. Hmm...
things to ponder.
Thanks for the advice :)
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy reading your blog.
You remind me so much of Kate Winslet's character, Clementine Kruczynski in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...for some reason. Your take on Japan is just so interesting!
becky -- haha, thank you! what a comment!
