Bedroom Eyes

It's a classic song but I just watched this video for the first time. I like the weird clashing vibes, how it's cool, kitschy, and punk at the same time. And man, would I hit that or what.

P.S. Can we bring organs back, please? I heard the reason they went out is that they don't translate well with modern recording methods. I say some psychedelic indie badass needs to tackle this in a sketchy basement studio, stat.

well tommy said it was because mainstream music gets laid down so crisp and sterile these days that it sucks the soul out of the organ sound. i don't know anything about recording but bob dylan says all modern recordings are garbage so i guess i can actually buy that explanation. the first instrument i ever touched as an electric organ, actually. there was one in my grandmother's house and i was obsessed with it. i wish someone had seen the folk and psychedelia coursing through my young veins and shown me the way. it's not too late. i say you, me, a crunky garage sale organ, and a tape recorder make some magic asap.

I didn't know the band was so young when they recorded it... In my head, I always pictured an old dude singing. This version's much hotter. I like it.

My boyfriend took organ lessons as a kid, instead of piano. It was a very embarrassing period in his life. Maybe THAT's why you don't hear them in music anymore... Everyone's too embarrassed to be the organ guy?
